Peyote Cactus (Lophophora williamsii)

Peyote (Lophophora williamsii) is a small spineless cactus that contains the psychedelic compound mescaline. Native to Southern Texas and Northern Mexico, these sacred cacti have been used by the indigenous peoples of North America in religious ceremonies for at least 5000 years. 

Details:

• Legal Cultivation in Canada: Despite their psychoactive properties, peyote cacti are completely legal to own and cultivate in Canada.
• Single Head Growth: Lophophora williamsii grows as a single head. Older cacti may put out a new head or two, but this comes with age. Once mature, they produce pretty pink flowers. These flowers yield small berries containing seeds.
• Age and Size: These cacti are approximately eight months old, around the size of a nickel, and shipped bare root.
