Lophophora williamsii var. caespitosa is a clustering variety of peyote, a small, spineless cactus known for containing the psychedelic compound mescaline. Native to Southern Texas and Northern Mexico, it has been used by Indigenous peoples of North America in religious ceremonies for at least 5000 years.

 

Details:

  • Clustering Growth: This variety of peyote multiplies, producing many new heads as it grows. Once mature, the heads produce soft pink flowers. These flowers develop into small berries containing seeds. This clustering form is considered less common in cultivation, making it especially sought after by collectors.
